Monika Büscher is the Director of the Mobilities.Lab at the Centre for Mobilities Research, Department of Sociology, Lancaster University. I’m interested in how people make, mobilise, share, sense and make sense of data. My focus is on everyday practices generally of ‘mobile living’ and specifically collaborative/collective intelligence endeavours – where multiple mobilities (of data, people, objects) intersect. I’m especially interested in the ‘worlding’ done with data, ‘smart city’ or smart citizen innovation, and much of my current research is about data in disasters and multi-agency emergency response.
